HAPPY HALLOWEEN

HAPPY hALLOWEEN!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween! My little man and I had a blast. I followed the tips we had posted on Facebook and it worked out perfectly! Little man was Gekko from PJ Masks and kept his mask on for the duration of trick-or-treating and had fun taking pictures. I lost count of how many houses we stopped at to trick-or-treat, and he quickly learned to pick candy from the bucket or put the candy people gave him in his bucket, and did so each time!! Of course if people volunteered their container of candy, he would try to keep grabbing more. Despite having a full bucket, he refused to eat any candy. Normally his picky eating habits, which feels like an understatement, frustrate me to no end. However, they worked to my advantage for Halloween, yay for maintaining healthy teeth and avoiding sugar highs! His favorite part of the night was pouring his candy out of his bucket and putting them back, one by one, in a separate little bucket, while counting them. Anyone else’s little genius obsessed with numbers?? We hope everyone else had a great Halloween, we’d love for you to comment and tell us about yours!

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

Let me introduce myself. My name is Jessica, and I am the sister of Alicia Lasaga, the owner of Autism Worldwide. I am naturally excited about Autism Worldwide as a proud sister, but I am so much more than that. If you are reading this, you are likely someone seeking help and guidance for a loved one with autism, and I want you to know, I know everything you are feeling. You see, my currently two-year-old son was diagnosed with autism only two months ago. I consider myself very lucky to have a BCBA for a sister who could from a very early age advise me on assessments and evaluations my son would benefit from, which all led to an early diagnosis, and with that, early intervention services. I am well aware that not everyone is this lucky. However, if you are here reading this right now, you are already on the path of getting your loved one all of the help they need to help them achieve a fulfilled life. Please look out for more blog posts on here as we all embark on this beautiful albeit messy journey caring for our amazing loved ones. Let’s share this journey together as we all learn much more about life from our amazing loved ones than we could ever hope to teach them.
